HARDCASTLE PARK

Public BBQ

Positioned beside Brisbane River at Hawthorne ferry terminal, this compact park delivers surprisingly peaceful respite from busier riverside spots. The setting is genuinely majestic, sweeping river views with historic Tenerife wool warehouses providing architectural backdrop striking from waterside benches. Playground features unusually tall swing sending kids skyward, plus water fountain for hot summer days. Basketball court caters to casual players though runs slightly undersized. Several barbecue facilities and picnic tables dot grounds, perfect for watching City Cat ferries glide past. People-watching as passengers disembark adds unexpected entertainment. Worth noting: no toilet on-site, with nearest facilities at Love Street park, detail influencing longer visits with young children.
